I never visualize beforehand, I just do it.  I just let my body move with the blade. I try not to think, in fact if I tried to think about what I was doing, I wouldn’t be able to do it.

It’s an important form of expression and culture.  It’s also an important source of income for the Inuit.  Personally, I focus on the future so preserving tradition is not as important to me as to some.  I actually prefer abstract carving and contemporary art.
